THE TURELLI METHOD
RELATIONAL PROBLEMS SOLVING
Breaking the cycle of disagreement
The Power of Place
The Turelli session is schedule to take place at the Courthouse. The parents and the panelists meet in the SAME conference room. A Turelli session has a 3-hour time limit.
If an agreement is reached, it is presented to the Court for approval that same day. And the controversy is over.
If an agreement is not reached, the case continues with the next phase of litigation.
Dual Professionals
Each Turelli session is facilitated by a mental health professional and a legal professional. This dual discipline approach the addresses the emotional aspects of parenting disputes within the legal parameters
Each Turelli session is facilitated by a women and a man with extensive family law experience.
Each Turelli panelist participates in the session as a volunteer.
Parents participate
No lawyers required
During a Turelli session, the parents speak for themselves. They define the parenting dispute in their own words. Parents are asked for pictures of their children. The focus remains on their child. The goal is to learn problem solving skills unique to this family. These skills can be applied by the parents on their own with the next dispute and not require Court intervention.
Parenting Issues
The Turelli Method is available for parenting time and decision-making disputes. For example a Turelli session helps with modification of the parenting schedule when the child enters school; OR when a parent relocates outside of Colorado; OR a parent re-enters a child's life; OR the child's participation in extra-curricular activities; OR other child related (non-financial) issues brought to the Court.
THE END OF AN ERA
Richard Turelli passed away peacefully at home after a remarkable 10 year battle with cancer.
He is an inspiration. Richard will be treasured always and remembered by many.
A touching memorial: Judge Richard Turelli
HUSBAND. Dad. Uncle. GRANDPA. Friend. Colleague.
THE VISION OF RETIRED JUDGE RICHARD TURELLI
and ATTORNEY RANDY MUSTAIN-WOOD
After facing their own mortality, this unlikely duo began to discuss a vision for empowering families.
The domestic relations courts place parents in a position to be adversaries. Focus deflected from the children.
There is a better way. Relational approach to problem solving.
Their vision forged a lasting friendship and their legacy is leaving the world a better place.
